Velowave Ranger vs. Ranger Step-Thru, what's the real difference besides the frame?

N NehaPatel 4 days ago ✓ Best Answer
Mostly just the frame for getting on and off. Performance wise, they're pretty similar. Ranger is maybe a bit stiffer.

Nope, same motor and battery usually.

So no major power difference then?

The Ranger Step-Thru fits shorter riders better too, I think. Heard that somewhere.

R RohanMehta 4 days ago
Yeah, the Pony also fits shorter riders well.

If you have knee issues or just want easier mounting, go step-thru. Otherwise, the regular Ranger is fine.

Makes sense. I'm leaning towards the regular for the look.

Thinking of getting a Velowave for commuting, which one should I look at?

R RajeshKumar 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
The Prado S Commuter Ebike is a solid choice. Had mine for a year, no issues.

Yeah, Prado S is pretty good. Not super powerful but gets the job done.

Does it handle hills okay?

Honestly, if you can swing it, the Spirit ST Step-Through is more comfortable for daily use. Especially if you wear regular clothes.

V VikramSingh 3 weeks ago
Agreed, Spirit ST is great for city riding.

Good point about the step-through frame.

I'd check out the 500W Commuter Bike. More affordable and still decent power.

Is the 500W enough for longer rides?
